Why Outis
Outis means “Nobody.”
We chose the name because we believe great products get built when ego gets out of the way. The goal is not to prove that our first idea was right. The goal is to make the product right.
Product Over Ego
We care deeply about the work and lightly about being right.
Strong opinions are useful. Attachment is not. We design, build, test, and change our minds quickly when the product tells us to.
The best idea wins, regardless of who had it.
Builders Only
We measure progress in things that ship.
Strategy, design, engineering, and product are not separate departments handing work to one another. Everyone contributes to making the thing real.
We prefer working software over presentations about working software.
Taste With Detachment
Taste matters.
Good products require judgment, restraint, and a point of view. But taste should guide the product, not become an excuse to ignore users, evidence, or reality.
Have taste. Lose attachment.
Small Team, High Agency
We believe small teams can build disproportionately important products.
AI lets capable builders move across disciplines, shorten feedback loops, and ship work that once required much larger organizations.
We keep teams small, ownership broad, and decision-making close to the work.
Shared Upside
When the work creates meaningful value, the people who created it should participate in that value.
We want Outis to be more than salary in exchange for hours. As the company and our products succeed, the people building them should share directly in the upside.
The product belongs to the team. So should part of the outcome.
